Sickle Cell Treatment Act ( SCTA)

On behalf of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc. and more than 90 member organizations throughout the nation, SCDAA requested support on the following:

• $10 million in full funding of the Sickle Cell Treatement Act of 2003 (P.I., 108-357)
  

• $5.25 million in continutation funding for the Maternal Child Health, Special Projects of Regional and National Significance, and Newborn Screening Community Outreach Demonstration Program
  

• $8 million to create the Hemoglobinopathy Registry and Surveillance System
  

• $10 million for the Sickle Cell Disease Global Support Inititiative
  

• $8 million to enhance current efforts underway related to the accelerated translation of clinical advances within the Sickle Cell Disease Clinical Research Network
